On 25th June 2024, IRE proudly sponsored the inaugural Technical Meeting of the Permanent Way Institution (PWI) Victorian Chapter.

The event marked a significant milestone for the rail engineering community, bringing together a diverse group of professionals to exchange knowledge, network, and foster collaboration. The full attendance reflected the strong interest and commitment of the rail engineering community. Attendees were treated to a series of insightful presentations, each designed to address current challenges and innovations within the field.

A highlight of the event was the presentation by John Scaife, IRE’s Head of Engineering. John delivered an engaging talk on the benefits and drawbacks of 60kg and 53kg rail. His expertise and insights provided attendees with a deeper understanding of these critical aspects of rail infrastructure.

The success of this event underscores the importance of such gatherings in advancing our industry. IRE is proud to have been a part of this event and looks forward to continuing our support for initiatives that promote knowledge sharing and professional growth within the rail engineering community.
