Regional Rail Link

A dedicated high-speed corridor for regional trains to access inner Melbourne.

Separating all regional trains from suburban rail movements between Southern Cross and Geelong, Ballarat, and Bendigo, increasing capacity and reliability. The project included a new regional train route between West Werribee and Deer Park, including two new stations at Tarneit and Wyndham Vale, and upgrading Footscray, West Footscray and Sunshine stations. Two new platforms at Southern Cross Station and a major new rail bridge over the Maribyrnong River were also included to provide further capacity.
