The Sydney Metro Stage 2 – City & Southwest project includes a 30km extension of metro rail from the end of Sydney Metro Northwest at Chatswood, under Sydney Harbour, through new CBD stations and south west to Bankstown, with 7 new stations and 11 upgraded stations. The package includes: Upgrading 15 bridges, installation of safety screens; station works, including upgrades; services buildings and facilities; civil construction including retaining walls, culverts and track drainage, fencing; segregation of the existing freight line from the new driverless railway tracks; rail and track systems work; and utility modifications.
